Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kang Do-hyung visited the Fisheries Disaster Information Center of the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS) in Gijang-gun, Busan on Friday, December 20 to inspect the low-water temperature response system. The National Institute of Fisheries Science operates a fisheries information situation room to respond proactively and efficiently to fisheries disasters such as abnormal water temperatures, red tides, and jellyfish. After receiving a report on the status and forecast of low-temperature response from the Fisheries Disaster Information Center, Minister Kang Do-hyung closely inspected the fisheries disaster forecast system and encouraged the staff to work hard to respond to winter disasters.
