On September 12, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kang Do-hyung, and Minister of SMEs and Startups Oh Young-ju visited Mangwon Market in Mapo District, Seoul, to check the supply trends of Chuseok holiday essential goods* and to encourage the market merchants who are participating in stabilizing prices. The ministers in charge of the livelihood economy inspected the prices of agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, as well as traditional holiday table items such as pancakes and rice cakes on-site, reviewing the implementation of the "Chuseok Livelihood Stabilization Measures" announced on August 28. The government is currently promoting the largest-ever supply of 170,000 tons of essential goods for holidays along with online and offline retail discounts and on-site refund events for Onnuri gift vouchers at traditional markets, amounting to 70 billion won in discount support, and supplying cost-effective livelihood gift sets.
