The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries conducted the Busan Port Integrated Defense Training linked to the response to cyber crises at Busan Port's International Passenger Terminal. This training involved about 300 people from 30 organizations and military units including the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, Busan Port Authority, Namhae Regional Coast Guard, Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, Busan Metropolitan City Fire & Disaster Headquarters, 53rd Infantry Division, Naval Operations Command, National Cyber Crisis Management Group, and Hanjin Busan Container Terminal. This training was conducted in preparation for a simulated case where the port's functions are paralyzed due to cyber terrorism at the Busan New Port—a key national facility—and a complex terrorist attack using drones, etc., against key national facilities and complex facilities. The training focused on joint civilian, military, government, police, and fire department training for quickly restoring the port's operation system, disposing of explosives, extinguishing fires, and subduing suspects.
