On May 31, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries held a celebration event for the 29th National Oceans Day under the theme of “The Sea as the Hope of the People” at Jeongok Port in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. National Oceans Day (May 31) is a statutory celebration day designated in 1996 to publicize the importance of the ocean and its economic and environmental value. This year’s event was attended by more than 1,500 participants, including MOF Minister Kang Do-Hyung as well as maritime and fisheries workers and local residents, to celebrate the 29th National Oceans Day.
