On April 18th (Thursday), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Kang Do-Hyung) hosted the third of its open forum series, “Yeon-eo Talk that makes money” at the seaweed processing plant of Shinan 1004 Seaweed located in Shinan, Jeollanam-do. To overcome the crisis of disappearing fishing villages and to revitalize fishing villages and coasts, MOF is preparing the Comprehensive Plan for Revitalizing Fishing Villages and Coastal Areas as the first task of the Marine and Fisheries Civil Livelihood Reform Task Force (TF) Team*. The third open forum event (talk concert) was held under the theme of “Enhancing the added value of fisheries and fishing villages through the 6th Industrialization*.” The event venue Shinan 1004 Seaweed is the first Korean company to achieve USD 100 million in seaweed exports as a single company and shared the know-how that helped it become the number one seaweed exporter at the event.
