On April 16th (Tuesday), at 15:00, Minister Kang Do-Hyung of Oceans and Fisheries attended the 10th anniversary memorial service to commemorate the victims of the Sewol Ferry disaster at Hwarang Amusement Park in Ansan, with over 1,500 people in attendance including the victims’ families, the public, and central and local government officials. During his eulogy, Minister Kang expressed his “deepest sympathy to the bereaved families” and his “prayers for the repose of the victims.” He added that (the Ministry) will “continue to strive to create a sea free from disasters and accidents with the safety of the people as the top priority, while ensuring seamlessly support for the memorial services in Ansan and Mokpo.”
