On April 2nd (Tuesday) at 14:00, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Kang Do-Hyung) held the Joint Ordering Group for Small and Medium-sized Ships Agreement ceremony, which aims to modernize aging coastal vessels, at the Seoul Branch Conference Room of the National Fishery Products Quality Management Service, attended by the coastal shipping industry and small and medium-sized shipbuilders as well as the government and policy financial institutions that support them. Through this agreement, the coastal shipping sector will be able to secure capable and reliable domestic small and medium-sized shipyards to respond to the increasing demand for eco-friendly ships that are necessary to replace old ships and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while at the same time enabling small and medium-sized shipbuilders to secure stable orders, providing the opportunity for the two sectors to grow together.
