On March 26th (Tuesday), Minister Kang Do-Hyung of Oceans and Fisheries held a policy meeting with heads of industry, academia, and research institutes in Seoul to discuss plans on fostering key industries related to advanced maritime mobility, including digital communication, autonomous operation, and eco-friendly vessels. The forum was attended by the heads of industry, academia, and research organizations related to the maritime sector, including the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority, Korea Institute of Aids to Navigation, Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering, the Society of Naval Architects of Korea, Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute, Korean Register, Korea Maritime & Ocean University, and Mokpo National Maritime University. The forum held in-depth discussions on plans to secure future core technologies in the advanced digital and eco-friendly sectors and develop professional resources and listened to suggestions from participants.
