On January 22nd (Monday), Minister Kang Do-Hyung of Oceans and Fisheries presided over his first maritime safety inspection meeting since his inauguration as Minister at the Sejong Government Complex, with representatives of 27 organizations in attendance, including the Korea Coast Guard, metropolitan cities and provinces, regional offices of oceans and fisheries, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, and the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority. The participating organizations, including the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, presented their respective maritime safety measures for 2024 and discussed their plans for creating a safe sea. In particular, in-depth discussions took place on safety management measures closely related to the safety of the public, including those for fishing vessels and passenger ships.
