The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries held an Invitational Overseas Buyers’ Event at BEXCO Busan on November 1st to promote the excellence of Korean seafood and expand exports. A total of 77 buyers from 12 nations attended the event, sharing their local Korean seafood import trends and challenges on the ground. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will work together with export-supporting organizations, including the Korea Fisheries Association, aT, National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, Korea Fishery Trade Association, and Korea Maritime Institute, to devise prompt solutions. In addition, overseas buyers will also participate in trade consultations for importing Korean seafood at the 21st Busan International Seafood Expo from November 1st to 3rd. As this is the first trade fair hosted in Korea since the pandemic to include buyers from Greater China, it is expected to revitalize seafood exports.
