In the wake of Typhoon No. 6 Khanun’s movement north, Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries convened a meeting to check the readiness of the maritime and fisheries sector against the approaching typhoon at 17:30 on August 8th at the MOF Comprehensive Situation Room. As Typhoon No. 6 Khanun is expected to land on the shores of Gyeongsang-namdo on the morning of August 10th, the Ministry has been operating an emergency response headquarters since August 4th, conducting inspections of marine and fisheries facilities to minimize damage from the approaching typhoon.
