On April 17th, Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries chaired a policy discussion for Coastal Shipping and Seafarer Policy Innovation Plan at the Sejong Government Building.
The heads and officials of the Ship Safety Technology Authority, Korea Shipping Association, Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology, and Korea Seafarer’s Welfare & Employment Center took part in the event to review and discuss issues relating to policies on coastal shipping and sea crew employment as well as in-depth discussion about potential new policies, including: ▲ expansion of policy financing, ▲ introduction of inward shipping promotion bonds, ▲ revamping of the seafarer training curriculum, and ▲ improving qualification examinations for marine engineers.
