On April 14th, Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries hosted the 2030 Awarding Ceremony for Developments in the Fisheries Sector and Fishing Villages at the Sejong Government Office.
Merits for the development of the fisheries sector and fishing villages are awarded on April 1st of each year in celebration of Fishermen’s Day and the Founding of Suhyup (Korea’s Fisheries Cooperative) to those who have contributed to the development of the fisheries sector and the fishing community and the promotion of fishermen welfare and status. A total of 33 merits were awarded this year.
