The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Kang Do-hyung) announced that it will hold the 2nd Preparatory Committee meeting for the 10th Our Ocean Conference (OOC) on Tuesday, January 21.

The Preparatory Committee is composed of Minister Kang Do-hyung—who serves as the chairman—and experts from various fields such as maritime affairs, diplomacy, and public relations to discuss all aspects of the 10th OOC event. The committee held its first meeting last October.

In this meeting, the committee members will share the status of preparations for the 10th OOC and exchange opinions on future directions. In particular, the committee plans to discuss the composition of major programs as well as strategies to promote and collaborate on Korea's leading policies and technologies in the marine and fisheries sector.

Scheduled to take place from Monday, April 28 to Wednesday, April 30 at BEXCO in Busan, the 10th OOC is being prepared seamlessly amid international interest. The event is expected to draw representatives from governments, international organizations, and civil society worldwide and include substantive discussions and commitments to address marine issues.

“I look forward to receiving valuable advice from experts on the preparations for the 10th OOC through this Preparatory Committee. Based on this, we will ensure the successful hosting of the 10th OOC, reinforcing Korea’s status as a global pivotal country in the marine and fisheries sector,” Minister Kang Do-hyung said.
