2024 Korea Maritime Week to Discuss the Future of the Maritime Industry
- Various events scheduled on the topics of decarbonization and digitalization for four days from September 9
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) announced that the 2024 Korea Maritime Week will be held in Haeundae, Busan, from September 9 to 12.
This year's Maritime Week will be held under the main theme of “The Era of Great Transition in the International Shipping Sector: Challenges and Opportunities” in order to discuss future strategies with which the maritime industry can respond to decarbonization and digitalization, the biggest issues in the international maritime sector.
The first day of the event will feature an opening ceremony at the Paradise Hotel and a high-level discussion on the topic of “The International community’s efforts and challenges in response to the decarbonization and digitalization of international shipping” with the participation of key domestic and international figures, including the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the President of the Danish Maritime Authority, and the CEO of HMM.
Fifteen events are scheduled to take place at the Paradise Hotel, Signiel Hotel, and BEXCO from the second day, including the Global Advanced Marine Mobility Forum to discuss cutting-edge marine mobility technologies and policies; the Asia-Pacific International Conference for Marine Digital on the topic of marine digitalization; the Marine Decarbonization Forum to discuss green shipping routes and eco-friendly strategies; and the Marine Mobility and Safety Expo to promote and exhibit marine safety and mobility technologies.
Those interested can check the details on the Korea Maritime Week website and attend by pre-registering online. The website will also broadcast the event live.
