- Regular Meeting of the 2023 Overseas Port Development Support Council to be held December 4th (Monday) -

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Cho Seung Hwan) will be holding the 2023 Overseas Port Development Support Council’s regular meeting on December 4th (Monday) at Luna Miele (CCMM Building) in Yeouido, Seoul.

Since its launch in 2016 under the objective to share strategies and cooperate with domestic companies for their active entry into international port markets, the Overseas Port Development Support Council has been holding regular meetings each year to discuss public-private collaboration actions.

This year’s event will be attended by Minister Cho of Oceans and Fisheries and more than 100 officials from port authorities, financial institutions, construction companies and logistics service providers.

The event will start with the introduction of the government’s Policy to Support Overseas Port Market Entry and Response Strategies, which will be followed by a presentation on the Al Faw Port Development Project in Iraq, one of the major projects won by a Korean company in 2023. The meeting will include a session on the Financial Support Expansion Plan by Korea Ocean Business Corporation to resolve the financing challenges of Korean companies. The meeting will also share the research results on the K-Consortium Expansion Plan in response to the recent growing trend of investment-driven development projects in overseas markets.
