Taste the Sea at the Movies with the New Korean Seafood Snacks

 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister CHO Seung Hwan) will be holding an Agreement Signing Ceremony and Tasting Event for the Development of Seafood Snacks for Movie Theaters on October 6th (Friday) at 19:00, at Megabox Daejeon (Shinsegae Department Store).

 

 

 As part of its Seafood Consumption Centenary Campaign, the Ministry has been engaged in the development of seafood snack prototypes since the beginning of the year, where the tasting event will evaluate the completed prototypes. Around 200 members of the Cultural Content Association, a social movie club that has been involved in menu development, will participate in the tasting event to evaluate the newly developed prototypes*: honey butter abalone and gim bugak. These products will be commercialized once improved based on the evaluation outcomes and actions and become officially available at theaters.

 

 

 * Prototypes: (subject to evaluation) honey butter abalone, gim bugak / (evaluation complete) flatfish balls, flatfish and chips, butter-grilled scallop, shrimp basket

 

 

 In addition, Pukyong National University will sign an agreement with the Korea Fisheries Association and Namyang Dairy Products to cooperate on the safe supply of quality Korean seafood products, the management of their quality, nutrition, and hygiene, the commercialization of seafood snacks, and their introduction to movie theaters.
