- Vice Minister Park Sung-Hoon of Oceans and Fisheries inspects management and release preparations of government seafood stockpiles, including pollock and mackerel, at Gamcheon Logistics Center in Busan -

On October 17th (Tuesday), Vice Minister Park Sung-Hoon of Oceans and Fisheries visited the Gamcheon Logistics Center of the Korea Fisheries Cooperative in Busan to inspect the management status of seafood prices and safety.

Vice Minister Park inspected the procurement and release preparations of government seafood stockpiles and their storage sites within the logistics center, including for pollock and mackerel, and also took part in the demonstration process for radiation testing of stockpiled seafood.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to stabilize prices of squid and yellow croaker, which have been unstable due to declines in coastal production, and pollock, whose prices still remain higher than normal, by releasing government stockpiles starting from late October.

In addition, the Ministry is hosting the "Korea Fishery Fair - Autumn Special Exhibition" from October 12th (Thursday) to October 29th (Sunday), which offers discounts of up to 60% on seafood purchases, as well as promoting various discount events, such as the Onnuri gift certificate refund event in 40 traditional markets nationwide and the issuance of mobile ZeroPay gift certificates for seafood products (every Thursday).
