Enjoy a Diverse Range of Sights and Seafood Delights on Weekends at Seafood Markets

 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Cho Seung Hwan) will kick off a series of festivals to promote seafood consumption at major seafood markets nationwide, starting with Gangseo Seafood Wholesale Market on September 9th (Saturday).

 

 

 Local governments and the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup) will continue to hold Seafood Market Festivals up until the end of the year, at numerous markets nationwide, including the Gangseo Seafood Wholesale Market (September 9th – 10th), Incheon Sorae Port Fish Market (September 15th – 17th), Noryangjin Fish Market (September 23rd – 24th), and Busan Jagalchi Fish Market (October 5th – 8th).

 

 

 The Gangseo Seafood Wholesale Market in Seoul will host various events (September 9th - 10th), including a seasonal seafood tasting event led by professional chefs, while visitors will be provided with discounted offers and vouchers to purchase seafood at affordable prices.

 

 

 In Incheon, the Sorae Port Fish Market will host the 23rd Sorae Port Festival (September 15th - 17th), offering seafood tastings events for major seafood products and fish porridge as well as entertainment including street music performances throughout the event.

 

 

 The Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul will host the 2023 Urban Sea Festival (September 23rd – 24th), offering experiences such as barehand fishing and a seafood food court. The festival will also offer Onnuri gift vouchers for seafood purchases to ease their burden of preparing Chuseok holiday meals.

 

 

 At Busan’s Jagalchi Fish Market , the 30th Busan Jagalchi Festival (October 5th - 8th) will feature a wide range of entertainment events, including a singing contest for university students, and diverse culinary delights such as a seasonal food tasting event for gizzard shad and roadside food stalls.
