 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Cho Seung Hwan) will be hosting the Korea Fisheries Festival – Health Food Summer Special Exhibition for 24 days from July 3rd (Monday) through July 26th (Wednesday).

 The Fisheries Festival is a nationwide event that offers up to 50% discounts for any purchases of fisheries products at offline retailers and online malls.

 This season’s event targets six products for discounts, including abalone, scallops, sea squirts, and mackerel, as well as rockfish and freshwater eel that are designated as Seafood Products of the Month for July. In addition, the partner businesses may designate any other seafood products for discounts at their own discretion. A total of 14 offline retailers, 1,700 stores, and 25 online shopping malls will take part in the event, with more details available on the official event website (www.fsale.kr).

 Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries explained that “flagship health seafood products were selected for discounts to promote good health for all amidst the heat and rain of the long summer.” He also asked the Korean public to “enjoy local seafood products as a means of enduring the hot summer season, sustain healthy and energetic lives, and serve as strong supporters of the Korean fishery industry.”
