- July 4th (Tuesday), Seoul: Public-private roundtable to promote seafood safety and listen to suggestions regarding the food service sector -

  On July 4th (Tuesday), Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries will be hosting a public-private roundtable in Seoul to invite stakeholder ministries, related institutions, and the canteen service sector to promote seafood safety and discuss safe seafood meal services.

  In the upcoming roundtable, Minister Cho plans to carry out a status-check inspection on the management of seafood safety and supply systems of the major canteen service providers that supply seafood products as well as listen to suggestions and ideas from the attending institutions. In addition, the event will share MOF’s safety management practices and plans regarding Korean seafood products and ask the frontline players for their active cooperation in securing the safe supply of Korean seafood products.

  MOF Minister Cho plans to state that “our oceans, tables, and seafood products are clearly safe, and the Ministry will thoroughly conduct safety inspections on seafood products, share the results with the public, and continue to communicate with the canteen service sector to ensure the safe use of canteen services by the Korean public.”
