Making its debut this year, IIOF provides timely and meaningful opportunities to a number of business persons in the maritime industry for sharing the industrial & technical trends and building the network. This future-oriented event will be held in Incheon (Songdo Convensia) on 19 to 20 Nov. 2020, co-organized by MOF & IMC and co-sponsored by Incheon Port Authority & Yonhap News Agency.

Under the theme of “New normal, Reboot ocean industries”, a series of discussions among renowned experts in maritime and port will take place at the forum. Arranged subjects for the discussions are port & city’s development; COVID-19-induced trends in oceans & fisheries; strategies for cooperation in inter-Korea logistics; the 4th Industrial Revolution in maritime areas & digital communication; future-oriented marine tourism environment & its strategies for the post-corona era; and development of maritime industry & conservation of the marine environment.

The event will expectantly be honored by distinguished keynote speakers who are globally leading port and shipping industries namely Mr. Tan Chong Meng, CEO of PSA International; Mr. Ditlev Blicher, Asia-Pacific Regional Managing Director of Maersk Line; and Mr. Bae, Jaehoon, CEO of Hyundai Merchant Marine.

In response to the social distancing policy against the virus spread, IIOF will be organized online meetings in parallel with offline platform. While foreign participants can join the event online, domestic guests are recommended to have the options to attend online or offline. Face-to-face programs will rightly be arranged satisfying the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. The whole events will be aired on the IIOF Youtube channel and its official website.

Registration to attend the forum can be addressed on the website (http://www.iiof2020.com/2020/) on 5 to 30 Oct. 2020. Online enrollees are given chances to attend Q&A session on the day, as well as handbooks and information on other interesting events.

Director Lee, Ahnho of Marine Policy Division of MOF stated that “IIOF will hopefully serve as an inspirational venue for forward-thinking business persons by sharing fast-changing trends in the maritime industry. Despite largely down-sized event driven by the pandemic, the forum will sufficiently attract multiple stake-holders and the public as it widely opens online.”
